Birds chirping, flowers blooming, warmer weather seems to inspire new changes. We’ve got tips for you to help tweak your skin care routine for this spring.

1. Spring clean your skincare shelf

It’s that time of year. We all have those products, the ones at the back of the bathroom shelf/drawer collecting dust. Sometimes these products can be well beyond their expired dates, which may in turn cause skin irritation if we use them. Why not refresh your trusted trio of basics: cleanser, toner, and moisturizer?

That cleanser you haven’t touched since last year? Toss it!

2.  Lighten up

Springtime means lighter moisturizers, lighter cleansers, refreshing and hydrating toners and serums. Time to switch out that deep, burgundy lipstick from the festive season and spring-in the lighter lipstick shades in peaches and pinks.

Serums help protect your skin from free radicals and future damage.

3. Buff away your winter skin

Say goodbye to dry, flaky, winter skin with body scrubs and body masks,  gentle face scrubs and facial masks followed up with a moisturizer. Apply moisturizers while skin is still damp for and extra hydration boost. Buff away dead skin cells, which can leave spring skin looking a bit dull. Use our gentle mineral face masks and walnut scrub to get all the effects of a professional facial the easy way.

Use small, circular motions when using a facial exfoliator – and go easy on your skin – once or twice a week is all you need!

4. Moisturize more

For the past several months our skin has been hidden. Necks and ears snuggled under scarves and hats, arms in sweaters, legs in stockings and boots. It’s time! Winter clothes can create dry, dehydrated, and irritated skin. Just before switching over to spring skin care, exfoliate your skin and moisturize one last time with a rich cream, then switch it out for a lighter moisturizer for the new season.

As weather temperatures warm up, so does our skin’s oil production. We tend to sweat more too.

A lighter lotion will help keep pores clear and avoid overloading your skin with excess oil for spring weather.

5. Time to up your SPF

Here comes the sun (doo n do doo), which calls for ramping up the SPF. Those UVA and UVB rays can affect your skin while driving or sitting next to a glass window and through clouds as well. Think smart.

Using sunblock on your face helps to keep your complexion even, plus our Face Cream with Sunblock can be applied under makeup with no problem.

6. Try something new

Now that you’ve nailed the spring skin care basics, it’s time to have a little fun and try out a new skin care treat! Have you tried a rose quarts stone roller on your face? How about face serums? Or maybe double oil cleansing?

Try a new facial mask, or even multi-masking, to help alleviate dry skin and add in all those great skin loving minerals. It only takes 10 minutes to get glowing skin. Double-up and use that time to catch up on that podcast, those emails, or why not just dance. Sure, why not? After all, it’s SPRING!

Look at that! A spring skincare switch up is easier than it seems. Tweaking your routine (hello lighter lotions!) means skin is ready for the sunnier new season.
