Skincare routines can blow your mind when finding out there could be anywhere from 3 steps to 12+ steps just in the morning routine. Twelve step routines are not for everyone, me included, so don’t feel intimidated to include every step.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is finding a skincare routine that works for YOU and one that you will follow!
1. First Question you need to ask yourself is…
What do I want my skincare to accomplish? (dark spots, fine lines, break-outs, etc.)
2. Second Question to ask yourself….
What skin type do I have? (dry, oily, combo, sensitive, normal)

If you want more in depth skin types, here’s a list of 16 additional skin types:

Now that you know these answers, you can get started with what you want in your skincare. Keep in mind that time will also play a factor in your daily routine.
Next, plan a morning and night time skincare routine, which should include the
minimum 3 steps below:
BARE MINIMUM MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE https://skinnami.com/product/morning-face-skin-care-3-step/
BARE MINIMUM NIGHT TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE https://skinnami.com/product/evening-face-skin-care-3-step/
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Moisturizer
Sounds very doable right?! Sim
ple is best so you keep it going daily.
Next, figure into your skincare any specific skin issues you want to address such as acne, rosacea, oily areas, flakey skin, wrinkles, pigmentation, etc. This is where you may have to do some research, or see a dermatologist, to find ‘
actives‘ that will help treat your skin concerns.

If this is too much, just stick to the Basics until you get a handle on a daily routine, then come back to the ‘actives’ later.
I simplify the cleanser and toner steps in my morning routine into one step by using
Micellar Water. This is for all skin types and is a multi purpose product that cleanses and tones, pulls dirt and oil from the skin and pores, also removes makeup (night time routine), is alcohol free, and promotes hydration, reduces irritation and inflammation, and keeps the skin soft, supple, and smooth.

Another important thing about Micellar water, it increases the skins’ natural skin barrier…that’s super important!
A
good rule of thumb is to apply products consistency of
thinnest to thickest.
My night time skincare routine simplifies the first 3 steps at night (shown in very top diagram) with Micellar Water as the makeup remover + cleanser + toner. Add in an eye serum and moisturizer and I’m good to go! It’s all up to you how much or how little to put in your skincare, but do it daily and have a routine!
If it’s simple and you love it, you will do it! (spoken from experience)

Remember to pick the routine that works for YOU!
