8 Tips to Update Your Skincare for Fall

The leaves are beginning to change, the air is becoming dryer, with warm days and cooler nights which means our skincare should change too.  September is a transition month. Breakouts may occur as the oil flow in the skin during the summer is still occurring while the cooler air is creating layers of buildup on the surface of the skin.  This can result in a dry, dull appearance by October on skin that previously looked so good.

Here is Skinnami’s suggested tips to update your skincare for Fall:

Tip #1:  Use a gentle cleanser

As we head into the fall season, a gentle cleanser which soothes and calms the skin is in order. Skinnami’s Creamy Milk Face Wash is specially formulated to gently remove dirt and excess oil without drying the skin or affecting the skin’s natural pH. Perfect for year round use, this cleanser is particularly important for the Fall and Winter months when cold winds and heaters really ramp up the work our skin must do to keep in balance.

Tip #2: Add in the right toner

Toner removes any last traces of dirt, grime and impurities stuck in your pores after you wash your face. Toner also restores your skin’s pH level, smooths skin by refining rough patches and improves skin tone.

Tip #3:  Boost Hydration

This is the time to apply the serums and gels after cleansing your skin. This important step keeps the skin hydrated as we transition from summer into Fall and then into Winter.

#4:  Love your Eyes

The holidays are just around the corner and it’s the perfect time to add a boost to the eye area to help with crepey skin, dark circles, and puffiness. Skinnami’s Eye Serum is packed with ingredients to help regenerate the delicate skin around the eyes.

Tip #5:  Add Creams and thicker Moisturizers

This is the time of year that calls for a change in moisturizer. Creams are better for Fall and Winter to protect your skin from dehydrating. Skinnami Avocado Cream is a luxurious moisturizer for the body and for all skin types. Our Body Frosting is for those who need a more deeper hydration.

Don’t forget to moisturize your face after cleansing, toning, and using your serums. Use Skinnami’s light weight and gentle Morning Face Cream with hyaluronic acid, and then use the Night Cream with Glycolic Acid to help gently exfoliate while sleeping. Skinnami also has a Face Lotion with Sunblock added for UV Ray safety.

And lastly, keep those hands hydrated with Skinnami’s amazing Satin Hands. If you need to hydrate your cuticles Skinnami has Cuticle Balm and a Cuticle Oil Pen for those desperate and dry cuticles that can become so painful when neglected.

Tip #6: Add a Gentle Exfoliation

Avoid that dull looking appearance of skin that happens when dry, cooler air creates a build up on the skins’ surface. Our favorite Rhassoul Clay Mask is for a deeper cleanse and exfoliation. Just a thin layer is applied and left on for no more than 10 minutes. Don’t forget your neck! It can be used all over or just in the rough places. Your skin will be deeply nourished and ready for the moisturizer of your choice.

Tip #7: Keep those Lips Moisturized

Our lips get more abuse than we recognize. Talking, eating, brushing our teeth, weather, sun and more. They will definitely need some exfoliation and moisturizing constantly throughout each day. Skinnami has specialized in amazing formulas to protect from the sun with natural organic sunblock, to moisturize with great organic butters and oils and also to taste amazing without the calories. Skinnami’s lip scrubs are just as amazing and now Skinnami also offers lip gloss to add on top of lip balm applications or even lip stick application. These are kid approved as well. You will not be disappointed. https://skinnami.com/shop/organic-lip-balms-with-spf25/

Tip #8: Use a Humidifier

“The more moisture in the air, the more moisture it’ll share with your skin” Dr. Tzu – dermatologist.

Since our skin is constantly in contact with the air around us, investing in a humidifier during the Fall and Winter will help boost hydration not only for your skin, but also your hair and sinuses. Do something kind for your skin and sleep in a room that has a humidifier.
